things that helped me care for a newborn while starting a business

August 21, 2017

I decided to get serious about starting a business pretty much as soon as I found out I was pregnant. Wouldn't necessarily recommend, but it worked for us. I was sick for a lot of my pregnancy, so my tip for running a business while pregnant is drink lots of chocolate milkshakes and just survive.

My first wedding was about four weeks after I had Addie. It's been tricky working while taking care of Addie, so here are the things that made it possible. This isn't a sponsored post; I just like the things I like and I want everyone to like them also!!!! These are in no particular order.

1. Solly Baby Wrap. One thing about working with flowers: I use my hands a lot. One thing about newborn babies: they like to be held. A lot. Addie was born on the 23rd, and I wore her in this to make a casserole on Christmas morning. For Addie's first four months, I kept her in this little wrap around the house and running flower errands and pretty much all the time. One time I forgot my wrap when I was running to pick up something up from Wegmans. I had Addie and stuff in my cart and I couldn't figure out how to not leave Addie alone in the car, unpack my cart into the car, and return the cart. So, I left the cart in the parking lot. I just confessed this to Taylor literally yesterday. I still feel guilty. I love this wrap because I love fancy polka dots. It's also super stretchy and light so when I had the postpartum sweats, I didn't die.
